Emperor

Black metal band from Notodden (Telemark), Norway, founded in 1991 by Ihsahn (Vegard Tveitan) and Samoth (Tomas Haugen). Among one of the earliest black metal groups to incorporate symphonic elements. Broke up in 2001, but have been sporadically performing live shows since 2005.
